VEGETABLE GLYCERIN

Glycerin is a widely employed food additive, solvent, sweetener and humectant. It has favorable thermal properties making it useful as an antifreeze. Glycerin finds wide use in drug delivery systems, as a solvent in many pharmaceutical preparations including oral, injectable and topical formulae. It is mildly antimicrobial and is an FDA approved treatment for wounds. It can be used to make botanical tinctures and extracts and is a natural preservative and antioxidant
